What does Locked Cut mean?

Locked Cut refers to the final version of a film or television episode that has been approved by the director, editor, and producers, with no further changes to be made. Once a cut is locked, the production moves into the final stages of post-production, such as sound design, visual effects, and color grading. Changes after this stage can be expensive and time-consuming. Related terms include Rough Cut, which is an early version of the film, and Final Cut, the definitive version approved for release.
