What does Network Test mean?

Network Test is a final audition stage in the television casting process where actors perform in front of network executives. This test is typically done after actors have gone through multiple rounds of auditions and callbacks, and it’s one of the last steps before casting decisions are made. Actors often sign “test deals” before participating in the network test, agreeing to potential terms in case they are cast. For example, network tests are common for lead roles in major TV pilots, where the executives need to approve the final casting decisions.

Example:The actor attended a network test for a new primetime drama series, performing their final audition for a panel of network executives.
Example: After a successful network test, the actor was offered the lead role in a major television pilot.
