What does Cue mean?

Cue refers to a signal given to an actor, crew member, or performer indicating that it is time to begin their part of the scene or performance. In film, television, and theater, cues can be visual or auditory and are often provided by the stage manager, director, or another member of the crew. Cues are crucial for timing and coordination in a production, helping to ensure that scenes flow smoothly without interruption.

Example:An actor waits for their cue from the stage manager to make their entrance onto the stage during a live theater performance.
Example: The director gives a cue to the camera operator to begin rolling as the actors start their scene in a television drama.
