What does POC (Proof of Concept) mean?

POC (Proof of Concept) is a short version or sample of a film, TV show, or project created to demonstrate its viability to investors, studios, or producers. POCs are often used in the early stages of development to show what the final product could look like, helping secure funding or interest from stakeholders. For example, filmmakers may shoot a key scene or create a visual effects demo as a POC to give potential backers a sense of the project’s tone, style, and potential success.

Example:The director created a POC for their sci-fi project, showcasing the visual effects and tone of the film to pitch to studios.
Example: A short action sequence was shot as a POC to demonstrate the director’s vision for the full-length feature film.
