What does DM (Direct Message) mean?

DM (Direct Message) refers to a private communication sent directly from one user to another on social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook. Unlike public posts or comments, DMs are visible only to the sender and the recipient. DMs are commonly used in the entertainment industry for networking, collaboration requests, and communication between fans and celebrities. They provide a more personal way to interact privately on otherwise public platforms.

Example:A producer sends a DM to an actor on Instagram to discuss potential collaboration for an upcoming project.
Example: A fan sends a DM to their favorite musician to express appreciation for their latest album, hoping for a personal response.
