What does Second Team mean?

Second Team refers to the stand-ins who are used on a film or TV set to perform blocking and lighting setups in place of the principal actors. While the first team consists of the main actors, the second team is used to help the crew adjust lighting, camera angles, and rehearse scenes without tiring the main actors. Once everything is set, the first team comes in to perform the actual scene. Related terms include Stand-In, an actor who physically replaces a principal actor for technical purposes, and Double, a performer who physically resembles an actor and substitutes for them in certain shots.

Example:The second team was called to the set to rehearse blocking and lighting while the principal actors prepared for their next scene.
Example: Using a second team allows the production to set up shots efficiently without having to keep the main actors on set for long periods.
