What does Pick-Up Shots mean?

Pick-Up Shots are additional or re-shot scenes filmed after the main production has wrapped. These shots are typically used to fix continuity errors, add new details, or improve certain scenes that didn’t work as intended during the initial shoot. Pick-up shots are often planned during the editing process when gaps or issues in the footage are discovered. For example, a director might shoot a pick-up scene to clarify a plot point or correct an actor’s performance.
