What does Mark mean?

Mark refers to a specific spot on a film or TV set where an actor is instructed to stand or move during a scene. Marks are often indicated with tape or other visual cues and are crucial for ensuring that the camera framing, lighting, and focus are correct. Hitting the mark is an important skill for actors, as it helps maintain continuity and allows the technical crew to do their jobs effectively.

Example:During a scene, the director instructs the actor to hit their mark by stepping into the light so the camera can focus on them properly.
Example: A production assistant places tape on the floor to mark the exact spot where the actor should stand during a critical moment in the scene.
