What does Dailies mean?

Dailies refers to the raw, unedited footage shot during a single day of filming, which is reviewed by the director, producers, and key crew members to assess the progress of a film or TV production. Dailies are typically watched at the end of each shooting day to ensure that the performances, lighting, camera work, and other elements meet the director’s vision before moving forward with production. Reviewing dailies allows the team to identify any problems that need to be addressed, such as reshoots or technical issues.

Example:The director reviews the dailies after the first day of shooting to ensure that the actors’ performances align with the overall tone of the film.
Example: The production team watches the dailies each evening to check for continuity errors and determine whether any scenes need to be reshot.
