Auspice

1 minute read | Last updated: 4 months ago

What does Auspice mean?

Auspice refers to the overarching entity, such as a production company or network, responsible for overseeing the creation, development, and production of a television show or film. In the entertainment industry, saying a project is “under the auspices of” a certain entity indicates that this organization holds creative and financial control over the project. Auspices can include a network, studio, or independent production company that manages the show’s overall direction.

Example:A popular TV series is produced under the auspices of a major Hollywood studio, which oversees the budget and ensures the creative direction aligns with the studio’s goals.
Example: An independent film is developed under the auspices of a production company that specializes in lower-budget, artistic projects.
