What does Cancellation Fee mean?

Cancellation Fee refers to a pre-agreed charge that a production company or casting agency imposes when a booking or job is canceled with insufficient notice. Cancellation fees help to cover lost time and potential wages for the talent or crew who were set aside for the project. These fees are typically outlined in contracts and may vary depending on how close to the scheduled job the cancellation occurs.

Example:An actor receives a cancellation fee after a commercial shoot is canceled less than 24 hours before their call time, as stipulated in their contract.
Example: A model is compensated with a cancellation fee when a photo shoot is called off the morning of the shoot, as per her booking agreement.
