Session Fee

What does Session Fee mean?

Session Fee refers to the payment made to an actor, voiceover artist, or model for their work during a scheduled session. The session fee compensates the performer for their time during the recording, filming, or photo session, regardless of the final use of the material. In the case of voiceover work, session fees are often based on the length of time spent in the recording booth, while for actors or models, the fee may depend on the length of the shooting day. The session fee does not usually include additional payments like residuals or royalties, which are based on the continued use of the material.

Example:A voiceover artist earns a session fee for recording several hours of dialogue for an animated series, paid based on the time spent in the studio.
Example: A model receives a session fee for a half-day photo shoot, covering their time spent in front of the camera for a fashion magazine spread.
